Hunger strike by Australian Estranged Fathers Group

(Canberra Reporter): The Estranged Fathers Group ( E.F.G. ) has organized a hunger strike protest in front of the Australian Federal Parliament Lawn in Canberra, ACT 2600. on 21st February 2008. The desperate fathers group did Hunger Strike from Dawn to sunset for Human Rights and to protest against the gross violation of Human Rights of those Children and their Estranged Fathers in Australia. The main organizer of this hunger strike Mr.Shibli told that he already sent protest letter to different government offices. The hunger strike protest was ended peacefully.

Australia 2020 Summit

-Bangla-Post Special 2020 Summit Reporter from Canberra, Australia 2020 summit is a historic milestone summit by Hon. Kevin Rudd. First day of summit was successful, more than 1000 delegates delivered their idea. Day one’s key idea was Home Affairs Minister Bob Debus’s to make repbulic Australia by 2010. Tim Costello’s "rent-to-buy" scheme introduced for housing. Beside these there are also lots fresh idea had come from the 2020 summit’s delegates such as: #A treaty between black and white Australia; #An energy audit for low-income households; #Higher taxes on cigarettes and alcohol and a "fat tax" on junk food, to help fund more preventative health programs and much more. Mr Rudd promised the Government would respond to each recommendation by the end of year.

Australia 2020 Summit

………… Reported by Jamil Shibli, J.P. A Concise Report on Australia 2020 Summit, Canberra, ACT 2600, Australia [19-20 April 2008. On 19 April 2008 I went along with others to the Australian Federal Parliament. After the Morning Tea, the Summit Sessions begun and continued until Dinner of that night. The Australia 2020 Summit was concluded on 20 April 2008, again I went along to the Summit around 8 A.M. on that Day of 20 April 2008 and started meeting various people. I sat with others in Health issues, Lunch together in the Dinning space. I also Went to get information about the Final sessions activities, Finally the Summit ended around 3.45 P.M. of 20/04/2008. The Australian Peoples Popular Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is a very ' People-Friendly ' person. The Media facilitator Ms. Chantel Myers helped me a lot to gather various related information. I am amazed by the quality of the Participants, the unique ideas of our Australian Prime Minister Rudd. The staffs of the Prime Minister and his Cabinet Office [PMC] were quite efficient and very cooperative! To my own observations, People from all walks of Australian Life came and they were given an Open or ‘Free Voice’ to raise their issues and their own individual thoughts about our Great Commonwealth of Australia !! Australian People backed up this Summit2020! Most of us went homes with satisfactions and We did enjoy this unique Historic event in Australia. I was the First Bangla speaking Australian reporter in this Summit and Quite a number of people asked me many Questions about the 'Bangla Language'. Thanks to All.
